Have you taken a good look at what the offices of tomorrow will look like? Do you have a question like-does coworking have a future? If yes, are you ready for the changes? If not, you should be! Because the trend of coworking has taken offices by a storm!

Several successful businesses of today started their journeys in coworking setups. Instagram, Timehop, Uber, you name it! And today we are here to discuss the major reasons that have led to the gargantuan popularity of the unique working approach.

The steady rise of freelancers

There are 53 million freelancers in just America today. By 2020, 50% of the U.S. workforce will be freelancers (this does not mean they are all full-time freelancers, but one of every two workers will be freelancers in some capacity). This on-demand work, instant gig economy is moving more and more into independent professionals that are using mobile and technology to create ecosystems of work they enjoy. Who says you can’t drive an Uber in the morning, design websites all afternoon, and cater your own food company at night? The old economy would lead you to believe that you should pick one job, work hard for the next 40 years at that company, and then retire. Not the new economy. The more diverse your skill set, the more opportunities come your way.

Satisfaction level in coworking spaces

People who use coworking spaces see their work as meaningful. Aside from the type of work they’re doing – freelancers choosing projects they care about, for example — the people surveyed by HBR reported finding meaning in the fact that they could bring their whole selves to work. They’re able to do this in a few ways.

Better interactions

Connections with like minded people are an important reason why people spend money to work in a communal space, as opposed to working from home for free or renting a nondescript office. Each coworking space has its own vibe, and the managers of each space go to great lengths to cultivate a unique experience that meets the needs of their respective members. Grind, for example, is a growing network of coworking spaces in New York and Chicago. Anthony Marinos, who oversees Grind’s marketing, community management, and member services, shared with us, “When it comes to cultivating our community at Grind, we’re all about the human element. We consider ourselves as much a hospitality company as we do a workspace provider. Our staff knows all of our members by name and profession, and we’re constantly facilitating introductions between Grindists.”

Higher Confidence

Compared to a traditional office, A Deskmag study found that an overwhelming majority (90 percent) of coworkers said they got a self-confidence boost, likely due to the fact that many spaces are filled with supportive communities that enable creative collaboration.

Higher productivity

You get everything you need for maximum productivity  in a coworking setup. Networking, collaboration, becoming client-ready, building your own culture, recruitment, better retention, more space for creativity, better work-life balance, and much more!

Looking at these facts and figures, it wouldn’t require a genius to figure out that coworking really is the way to go. It is not going to be so long before traditional offices are going to looked at as archaic!
